   Caw, Caw, Caw
Anastasia could feel the pounding of a crow’s wings flapping in the sky. It rang into the black she-wolf’s ears. The crow cawed following her. He kept cawing until the sky behind the wolf was covered in black with flapping wings of death. Some of the crows swooped down onto Anastasia’s black fur.

Her eyes were a dull brown and she had a sorrowful expression. Her face twisted by death and insanity due to seeing so much death. She was frail looking as she walked a lonely road trying to find her way.
The road had mounds of sand and deep cracks that sank into the earth going on forever. Small delicate patches of grass grew in between the cracks. A few yellow dandelions grew but drooped down, thirsty for water.
Anastasia kept walked, limping heavily. Her paws had blisters and sores for what seemed like walking centuries on the lonely road. They bled leaving a trail of bloody pawprints on the black pavement.

A skinny malnourished dog started to follow her. It had scars from crows and scars from fights. Blood stained her muddy brown fur.  Anastasia stopped, noticing the dog and let it walk along side her. They walked together for a long time until she found a dead carcass. She limped over to it to eat, but the dog wanted it all to itself. It foamed at its mouth and snarled. Anastasia’s eyes widened, her innocence could be seen in her dark brown eyes.  The dog charged snapping its jaws. Crows came behind her and attacked the dog. Anastasia was so scared she turned and ran, trying not to look to see what was happening to her friend.

When she turned she expected a pile of bones, but instead saw it was a fox. Her fur was a deep orange red and its eyes glowed red. Anastasia backed off and ran. Something felt wrong about it to her. She ran so fast her fur bristling in the  desert winds. The crows followed Anastasia, dropping black feathers all over the pavement. Her only friend was nothing more but a pitiful fox, following her just to...survive.

The dry thick air fell heavily on Anastasia. The black pavement burned from the heat of the sun and it cooked her paws.  She could smell her paws burn, filling the air in a deceased scent. The black wolf felt tired she just wanted to drop to the floor and let the crow feed on her. Anastasia didn’t feel the need to continue walking anymore. Storm clouds started to cover the sky. They were dark and menacing. Thunder rolled around above the crows. She felt a drop of rain fall onto her ear making it twitch. Then another fell onto her snout making her sneeze. Rain fell slow at first until it started to pour. The rain weighed her fur down making her more tired. She felt gravity give way. Just before she hits the black pavement, she falls onto something soft.

Anastasia looked up weakly to see a White male wolf his name was Erasmus. He smiled at her helping her back to her feet. He licked her cheek gently. Doves flew behind him.  Erasmus started walking with Anastasia leaning on his side until she started walking on her own. They walked that road with doves and crows dancing together above them. Erasmus kept Anastasia close to him. Neither of them knew what would happen next but the kept pressing on trying to find their paradise.

The desert changed quickly from day to night. The stars above them showed brightly. The nebulas were easily seen and the moon was missing. Off in the distance a bright green aurora encased a broken city. Anastasia kept walking ignoring the old city. Erasmus smiled looking at her. Anastasia changed rapidly in the short period of time the walked. Her fur was a now dark gray and her eyes a creamy soft brown color. Her paws stopped bleeding and started to heal. Her bones started to hide under her fur.

One of Erasmus’s doves landed on her back. Anastasia’s crow who lead the flock landed on Erasmus and cawed and the dove cooed. Both of the flocks flew in unison as Anastasia and Erasmus walked. The road seemed to get shorter and shorter within each step they took. Time slowly started to stop. The only things moving fast were the comets that flew by earth. Fog rolled in mysteriously, covering their paws. As they kept walking the fog got thicker and covered their bodies.

The crows and doves flew off into the fog cawing and cooing. It was just the two wolves now. Erasmus walked in front of Anastasia. He guided her through the fog. Both of them started to become stardust. There fur faded and there bodies changed from solid to transparent. Stardust trailed their tails and Erasmus emerged from the fog first.  Stardust stuck to his transparent fur, glittering elegantly. Anastasia’s fur did the same thing as she stepped into the unknown new world. They both took one step and all the bad thing washed away. A wave of contentment washed over them and they played out in the fields of grass. Geese flew above them keeping them safe from the negative thoughts that lurked in their minds.
